K Boysen Showpigs

Kale, Koby, and Kabe Boysen

K Boysen Showpigs includes brothers Kale, Koby, and Kabe Boysen, with the help and support of their parents, Duane and Jodi Boysen of Wapello, Iowa. The boys started showing pigs in 2006, but their roots go deep in the farmland just west of town. K Boysen Showpigs started in 2012 by farrowing Kale, Koby, and Kabe’s own crossbred and Duroc sows. Since that time, they have worked their way up to 20 crossbred and two purebred sows.

K Boysen Show Pigs has strived to keep the sow herd ahead of the upward swing in new trends and upcoming genetics. The Boysens know Kent Show Feeds can compete at all levels – county, state, and national. Each of the boys has achieved success at all levels by feeding Kent Show Feeds.

They are the most confident with the results they get with Kent Prime Time, as it is the easiest to use for the beginner all the way up to the expert feeder. They use Prime Time from start to finish, all the way to the championship drive.

Kale, Koby, and Kabe gladly share advice with any and all exhibitors, commenting on feeding, showmanship tips, or general swine care knowledge. Helping young kids getting started showing pigs and watching them succeed in the show ring is the most rewarding part of the whole process for them.

Some memorable wins for the Boysens include Reserve Champion crossbred barrow at 2016 World Pork Expo and Grand Champion Market Hog at the 2017 Iowa State Fair. They have also had several class and division winners at numerous state and national shows from the NAILE (Louisville, KY) to National Western Stock Show (Denver, CO).

Kale graduated from Iowa State University and Black Hawk East. Koby is attending Iowa State and Kabe is attending Wapello High School. In their spare time, Jodi works at the flower shop she and Duane have owned for 27 years, while Duane farms and is a real estate agent.
